Tax control of energy, water companies to be tightened in Armenia

Molybdenum export strategy developed in Armenia

ArmInfo. Funded by USAID, Ameria Management Advisory, Modex Consulting and international expert Andreas Klassen have developed Armenia's export strategic program, where molybdenum has been included in the list of leading products, as stated by Modex.  According to the source, in the coming years, separate actions are expected that will allow Armenia to strengthen its position on the "world map" of molybdenum producers. In modern industry, molybdenum is often used in alloys, due to its physicochemical properties ensuring the durability and resistance of equipment or individual parts in various corrosive environments, due to which such alloys are widely used in the production of missiles, chemical and pharmaceutical industry equipment, and  complex architectural structures.

ArmInfo. The Central Bank of Armenia has completed the bankruptcy process of Ardshinbank OJSC after 23 years. It began in 2002 and is completely separate from the Ardshinbank CJSC that is currently operating. The Central Bank Council made the relevant decision during a meeting on January 29, 2025.

Armenia`s Tourism Committee plans to introduce Institute of State  Guarantees to protect tourists` interests

This was stated by Lusine Gevorgyan, the Chairperson of the Tourism Committee of Armenia, during a press conference on January 29. She noted that the project is currently being discussed with international donors.

Overchuk: Armenia`s EU accession will result in the country being  excluded from the EAEU market

ArmInfo. Armenia's accession to the European Union will result in the republic's withdrawal from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the closure of the EAEU market for this country, as stated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk to journalists on January 29, TASS reports.  "The solution here is obvious: opening markets with the European Union will mean closing markets with the Eurasian Economic Union. Otherwise, our  producers in the Eurasian Economic Union will suffer," the Deputy  Prime Minister of the Russian Federation noted. He specified that for  Armenia, "zeroing import customs rates with the EU will automatically  mean a return to customs and customs tariffs with the EAEU."

Nikol Pashinyan not to attend the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council  meeting in Kazakhstan

ArmInfo. Fitch Ratings has affirmed Armenia's Long-Term Foreign Currency Issuer Default Rating (IDR) at <BB-> with a <Stable> outlook, as noted in the Fitch Ratings statement. It also includes an updated forecast for Armenia's GDP growth, projecting a slowdown to 4.8% in 2025 (down from an estimated  6% in 2024 and an actual  8.3% in 2023).
