ArmInfo. We are entering the second copper-bronze age, because according to all forecasts,  copper, molybdenum and a number of other metals will become the driving force of the economy.

ArmInfo.Despite making a significant contribution to the country's economic development and  tax base, Armenia's mining industry, unfortunately, does not fully utilize its full potential according to international standards. This was noted by Vardan Janyan, First Deputy General Director of the Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine (ZMMC) and President of the Union of Miners and Metallurgists of Armenia, during his report at the Mining Armenia Forum.

ArmInfo.There are only 34 new copper projects in the world, five times fewer than the number required just for electric vehicle production over the next 25 years.  This was stated by Roman Khudoliy, the CEO of the Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Plant (ZMMK), during his speech at the opening of the Mining Armenia Forum. The Forum was held on the topic of <Modern mining industry: problems and opportunities of Armenia's resources in the context of the global economy>.

ArmInfo. Armenia's gross international reserves (GIR) decreased by 14.6% annually, or $615 million by September 2024, reaching $3.605 billion. A year ago they had increased by 16.5%, or $598 million. This trend shows that GIR is moving further away from the historical maximum of $4.2 billion reached in August 2023. This is evidenced by the data of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia.

ArmInfo.On September 30, the opening ceremony of the American Competitiveness Exchange (ACE  Armenia) program was held. The event was attended by Gevorg Papoyan, the Minister of Economy, Narek Hovakimyan, Deputy Minister, Christina Kvien, the US Ambassador to Armenia and Francisco Mora, the Permanent Representative of the Organization of American States.

ArmInfo. In 2025, the budget of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia will be approximately 665 billion drams, or 110.7 billion drams more than in 2024. This is stated in the message to the draft state budget for next year.  According to the document, under conditions of ensuring GDP growth of 5.6%, 3.5% GDP deflator and average inflation of 3.6%, the state budget revenues of Armenia in 2025 will increase by 279.5 billion drams - to 2 trillion 873.1 billion drams (about $7.4 billion).
