ArmInfo.At a meeting on June 27, the Government of Armenia introduced changes to the program to  ensure affordable housing for residents of the country's border regions.

Armenian farmers who took advantage of government assistance programs and suffered as a result of severe flooding that occurred on May 25-26 in the Tavush and Lori regions will receive assistance from the RA government in the form of deferred payments on borrowed loans. The decision on this was made at a Cabinet meeting on June 27.

ArmInfo.The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will provide Armenia with a  loan of 236 million euros for the construction of the southern section of the Sisian-Kajaran highway of the North-South transport corridor. At a meeting on June 27, the RA Government approved a draft decision on ratification of the agreement with the Bank, which will be sent to the National Assembly of the country in due course.

ArmInfo.The Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises of Armenia (UATE) signed a Memorandum of  Understanding (MoU) with the Applied Policy Research Institute of Armenia Foundation (APRI Armenia) for partnership in policy research and dialogue and the organization of the 2024 World Congress on  Information Technology (WCIT2024/DigiTec). This agreement marks the beginning of a collaborative effort between the two organizations to advance technology and policy research initiatives in Armenia.

Thus, in January-May 2024, the industrial price index was 102.2% (versus 98.4% in the same period of 2023), amid the sharp acceleration in the y-o-y growth of the industrial sector from 3% to 22% in January-May 2024, up to 1.2 trillion drams ($2.97 billion). 

ArmInfo.The growth of economic activity in Armenia slowed down to 11.2% per annum in January-May  2024(from 12.5% in the same period of 2023). But, unlike last year, now the industrial sector is the driving force of growth. According to preliminary data from the RA Statistical Committee, this is accompanied by continued high growth rates of exports and imports.
