ArmInfo.Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan met with Indonesian Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita as part of the Innoprom international industrial exhibition held in the Russian Federation.

During a meeting with the ambassadors and diplomatic representatives of the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Iraq, and Qatar in Armenia, Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan emphasized the importance of supporting the embassies of these countries in strengthening business ties between  Armenian producers and importers, large retail chains, and distributors.

ArmInfo.  Starting July 10, 2026, the export of phytosanitary controlled goods by individuals from Armenia in excess of certain quantities will be prohibited, as  announced by the Food Safety Inspection Body of the Republic of  Armenia.

This was stated by Eduard Hakobyan, Chairman of the RA  State Revenue Committee, during a panel discussion entitled "Evolving  Geoeconomic Realities: Armenia's Economic Sustainability," organized  by the Yerevan School of Political Studies.

ArmInfo. In Armenia, economic activity growth accelerated to 8% annually in January-May 2026 (from 5.7% in the same period of 2025). Moreover, the industrial sector,  having managed to recover from the recession to double-digit growth,  has recovered its position as one of the drivers of economic growth.  According to the final data from the Statistical Committee of the  Republic of Armenia, foreign trade is still in decline, but only  slightly, in contrast to the significant decline a year ago.

ArmInfo.  Armenia needs a large-capacity nuclear power unit. UN National Energy Expert Ara Marjanyan told ArmInfo in an interview, commenting on Rosatom State  Corporation Director General Alexey Likhachev's statement that the  company could offer the republic large or medium-capacity units.

ArmInfo. In Armenia, the dollarization of resident loans increased from 30.8% to 32.1% in May 2026, but this only marginally affected the dram component, which dominates the portfolio.

ArmInfo.  In Armenia, annual inflation accelerated to 5.1% in June 2026, up from 3.9% a year ago. This was driven by a more pronounced increase in food prices - 8.5%  (compared to 6.2% last year), a less noticeable increase in services  - 2.4% (compared to 3.5% last year). At the same time, non-food  prices increased by 2.3% (compared to a 0.2% decrease the previous  year). This is according to data from the RA Statistical Committee.

ArmInfo.  The Armenian government, represented by its Investment Committee, has approved a $650 million investment package for the implementation of three major  infrastructure projects in Yerevan, including the construction of the  Ajapnyak metro station. Mayor Tigran announced this during a meeting  of the Yerevan Council of Elders on June 6.

ArmInfo.  Armenia must determine its foreign policy vector.  Vladimir Avanesov, Doctor of Political Science and Head of the Middle and Post-Soviet East Department at the  Institute of Scientific Information on Social Sciences of the Russian  Academy of Sciences, stated this on the sidelines of the conference  "Energy Security of the South Caucasus: Armenia's Choice," in  response to a request to forecast the price of Russian gas after  April 2027, when the gas agreement between Armenia and Russia  expires.
