Armenia`s metallurgy industry accelerates growth

ArmInfo.By November 2021, the metallurgical industry of Armenia accelerated its y-o-y growth rate from 3.7% to 16.4%. According to the data of the Statistical  Committee of the Republic of Armenia, such dynamics was provoked by a  surge in the production of castings from unalloyed (carbon) steel, as  well as the continued growth in the production of ferromolybdenum and  copper concentrate.

ArmInfo.The volume of industrial production in Armenia in January-October 2021 accelerated the y-o-y growth rate from 0.5% to 1.1%, amounting to 1.848 trillion  drams ($ 3.6 billion). This was provoked by the revitalization of the  manufacturing industry. According to the Statistical Committee of the  Republic of Armenia, in October 2021 alone, industrial production  increased its volumes by 3.9%, ensuring the volume of 225.9 billion  drams ($ 471.4 million).

According to the final data of the Statistical Committee of  the Republic of Armenia, Russia takes the lead in Armenia's foreign  trade turnover with a volume of more than $ 2.03 billion in  January-October 2021, with a change of y-o-y dynamics from  0.6%  decline to 14.3% growth (against 10.5% growth in the pre-COVID  comparable period).

Regular container trains start to run from China to Georgia

ArmInfo. For the first time, a container train departed for Georgia from the Gansu province in north-central China. This was reported by newsgeorgia, referring to the statement of the Georgian Embassy in the PRC.  According to the source, the rolling  stock left the city of Uwe on December 4, and should arrive in  Tbilisi after 10-12 days.

MP: Armenian authorities directed expensive borrowed funds to curb  devaluation of dram

9.6% annual inflation in Armenia in Nov. 2021

This January-November, 6% inflation was recorded in Armenia`s consumer market against 0.3% in the corresponding period last year, the cause being a 9.1% rise in prices for foodstuffs (including alcohol and cigarettes) and a 7.4%  rise in prices for nonfoods, with a 1.5% rise in prices for services.  Last January-November saw a 1% rise in prices for nonfoods, with a  0.9% reduction in prices for foodstuffs and a 1.4% rise in prices for  services recorded.
