Armenia`s public debt is approaching $10 billion

ArmInfo. In January-July 2022, Armenia's public debt increased by almost 7.7% or $706.2 million - up to $9 billion 974 million. At the same time, as a result of the  revaluation of the national currency against the US dollar, the  public debt in dram terms decreased by 8.2% or 363.1 billion drams -  up to 4 trillion 067 billion drams.

ArmInfo.The total net profit of insurance companies (ICs) in Armenia for H1 2022 reached 2.3 billion drams ($5.6 million), with a y-o-y  19-multifold increase, with a  quarterly decline of 13.1%, against a y-o-y decline of 2-fold and a  quarterly increase of 2.5-fold in comparable periods in 2021.

ArmInfo.. "Rossgostrakh Armenia" IC continues to lead in terms of net insurance premiums and net insurance claims. According to the data of the Financial Rating of  Insurance Companies of Armenia as of June 30, 2022, prepared by  ArmInfo, following the results of the first half of the year, the net  insurance premiums of "Rossgostrakh Armenia" IC exceeded 5.9 billion  drams ($14.6 million), and net insurance claims - 3.8 billion drams  ($9.4 million), with a y-o-y growth of the net insurance premiums by  11.3%, while the net insurance claims declined by 7.3%.

Number of plastic cards up as capital relocated to Armenia

ArmInfo. As of July 1, 2022, over 2.8mln plastic cards were effective in Armenia, including  co-badging cards ArCa-MIR and Russian MIR cards, with a slower increase - from 8.3% to 7.7% - which is lower than the 9.1% increase in the corresponding period of 2020 and must lower than the 22.2%  increase in 2019. In the first half of 2022, 95,600 more cards were issued, with 67,400 cards issued in the 2nd quarter. The cause is the relocation of the capital to Armenia by a larg number of Russian residents.

Airlines, hotels, banks, rental and leasing sectors registered  significant increase in service volumes in Armenia

ArmInfo.The service sector sharply accelerated growth in Armenia, in H1 2022, from 2.7% to 26.9%, as a result of which its volume exceeded 1.1 trillion drams  ($2.4 billion).  This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical  Committee, according to which in June alone, the volume of services  provided increased by 8% (against 3.9% a year earlier), amounting to  226.7 billion drams ($536.4 million).

Cargo traffic down, passenger traffic up in Armenia in first half,  2022

ArmInfo. In the first half of 2022, This January, the cargo traffic totaled 8,332.6 thousand tons - an 11.2% increase against an 18.4% increase last year. During the  period under review, passenger traffic showed a 40.4% increase  against a 17.7% increase (71,030.5 thousand passengers).
