Standard & Poor`s assigns sovereign rating to Armenia for the first  time

ArmInfo.On October 12, 2021, S&P Global Ratings assigned its 'B+' long- term foreign- and local-currency sovereign credit ratings to Armenia. At the same time,  it assigned its 'B' short- term foreign- and local currency ratings.  The outlook is positive.

ArmInfo.The expenditures of the defense sector of Armenia next year will increase by about 11%, or by 33 billion drams, amounting to more than 345.4 billion drams.   Meanwhile, 518.2 billion drams (about $ 1.050 billion) will be  allocated to service and repay the government debt, of which 214.6  billion drams (about $ 434.7 million) will be allocated for interest  payments.

ArmInfo.Cargo transportation in Armenia in January-August 2021 increased by 12.1% per annum (against 4.5% growth in the same period in 2020), amounting to 10,467.1  thousand tons. According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic  of Armenia, the acceleration of the upward dynamics was provoked by  the change from the recession to the growth of cargo transportation  by air and the acceleration of the upward pace of road freight  transportation.
