ArmInfo.  Economic development is on a positive track.  Armenian Minister of Economy  Gevorg Papoyan stated this on October 28 at the hearings on the draft  state budget of the Republic of Armenia in the National Assembly  committees.

ArmInfo.  Currently, approximately 55,000 engineers and programmers are involved in  Armenia's technology sector. This was stated by Mkhitar Hayrapetyan,  Minister of High-Tech Industry, during discussions in the National  Assembly committees on October 28.

ArmInfo.  Budget allocations for the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia in 2026 will amount to 31.2 billion drams. This was announced by Mkhitar Hayrapetyan,  head of the ministry, at the hearings on the draft state budget of  the Republic of Armenia in the National Assembly committees on  October 28.

ArmInfo. From January to September 2025, Armenia's banking system increased tax payments to the state treasury by 28% year-on-year, reaching 131.2 billion drams ($343 million). According to the State Revenue Committee, 91.5%, or 120 billion drams, of this amount was paid in direct taxes (including  profit and income taxes), a 30% increase compared to the same period last year.

ArmInfoArmenian Deputy Finance Minister Arman Poghosyan, who is responsible for overseeing the country's tax policy, doesn't consider the implementation of the Universal Income Declaration System a failure, despite the fact that only about 20% of tax filers reported their income two to three days  before the declaration deadline.

ArmInfo.In the draft 2026 budget, the Central Bank's fiscal policy aims to strengthen the resilience of the Armenian economy and increase GDP potential through enhanced competitiveness in Armenia, a significant expansion of investment in economic security infrastructure, and human capital, as  stated by Central Bank Chairman Martin Galstyan on October 27 during the presentation of the draft 2026 state budget to the National  Assembly committees.

ArmInfo.  The top four telecom operators in Armenia paid 30.7 billion drams ($80.4 million) to the state budget in January-September 2025, a 10% year-on-year  increase (compared to a 9.1% decline a year ago), as evidenced by  data from the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia. Of  this total,  8.3 billion drams  came from direct taxes (including  corporate income tax), and 14.2 billion drams from VAT. For the  fourth year in a row, Viva Armenia CJSC (Viva trademark) is the  leader among Armenian telecom operators, ranking 13th (compared to  the 9th the previous year). The company contributed 14.3 billion  drams to the state treasury in January-September 2025, with 4.6  billion drams from direct taxes (including profit and income tax) and  6.1 billion drams from VAT.

ArmInfo.  Starting January 1, 2026, all Armenian citizens, not just pensioners, will be  eligible to receive cashback on their bank cards, as stated by RA  Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan during parliamentary committee  debated on the 2026 draft state budget on October 27.

ArmInfo.  The Russian Federation's restrictions on the duration of stay of foreigners,  including those from EAEU countries, contradicts the provisions  outlined in the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union, as stated by  RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on October 27 during a hearing of  the RA National Assembly committees on the draft 2026 state budget.

ArmInfo. According to the results for the first three quarters of 2025 published by the State Revenue Committee, Ardshinbank became the largest taxpayer of Armenia, transferring AMD 32.3 billion to the state budget. Including AMD 2 billion in indirect taxes and other fees, Ardshinbank’s total tax payments amounted to AMD 34.3 billion, which also includes AMD 2.4 billion in tax contributions from Ardshininvestbank that merged with Ardshinbank on April 21, 2025.

ArmInfo.  In Armenia, the industrial price index in January- September 2025 was 103.1%  (compared to 102.9% in the same period of 2024). This slight change  was seen amidst a decline in the annual dynamics of the industrial  sector, shifting from 12.6% growth to 5.7% decline, with a volume of  2.1 trillion drams ($5.3 billion),  according to preliminary data  from the RA Statistics Committee. In September 2025, compared to  September 2024, the industrial price index saw a more significant  increase rising from 102.9% to 105.9%./ This increase was observed  alongside accelerated industrial sector growth from 4.6% to 10.1%.

ArmInfo. Despite the increase in absolute public debt, Armenia's debt-to-GDP ratio in 2026 will remain at the same level as in 2025. This was stated by RA  Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan on October 27 during the  presentation of the draft 2026 state budget to the National Assembly  committees.

ArmInfo.  In Armenia, economic activity growth slowed to 7.6% annually in January-September 2025 (from 8.7% in the same period of 2024). Moreover, the industrial  sector, which was one of the growth drivers a year earlier, is  weakening the pace of economic growth with the current downturn.  According to preliminary data from the RA Statistics Committee, this  is accompanied by a deterioration in the foreign trade trend from  significant growth to a significant decline.
