MP from the Prosperous Armenia  Partry (PAP), economist Mikayel Melkumyan, stated this during  briefings. The MP noted that it will be extremely difficult to  restore this difference. Melkumyan did not explain, meanwhile, where  did he get such an assessment.

In the first quarter of  2020, the Armenian trade sector slowed down y-o-y growth from 10.1%  (for the same period of 2019) to 0.2% this year, amounting to 657.5  billion AMD ($ 1.4 billion). The dynamics was due to the wholesale  turn from growth to decline and a slowdown in retail trade. This is  evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical Committee.

Of these,  1,592.8 thousand tons (54.4% of the total) accounted for road  transport, which decreased by 4.8%, against a decline of 72.2% a year  earlier.
