ArmInfo.It is perplexing that today, when practically all states, including our unfriendly neighbors, are constantly increasing their military spending, Armenia  is moving in the opposite direction. Economist and former head of the  RA State Revenue Committee, David Ananyan, shared his concerns about  the planned defense budget cuts.

ArmInfo. From the beginning of 2025 through September 29, Armenia exported 121,800 tons of fresh fruits and vegetables. This is 13,600 tons, or 12.2%, more than in the same period last year, as stated by Economy Minister Gevorg  Papoyan during a regular government session on October 2.

ArmInfo.  The Government of Armenia approved the  Technical Cooperation Agreement with the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany during its regular meeting On October 2.

ArmInfo.The Armenian government approved the draft decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia "On Approval of the Agreement on Cross-Border Admission to Placement and Circulation of Securities in on-exchange Trading within the EAEU States, during its regular session on October 2. 

ArmInfo.In 2025, approximately 97 billion drams ($252 million) will be required for income tax refunds to mortgage holders. This was announced by State Revenue  Committee (SRC) Chairman Eduard Hakobyan at a government meeting,  during which an additional 12.6 billion drams (approximately $33  million) was allocated for the program, in addition to the initially  planned 84 billion drams ($218 million).

ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's stance on unblocking communications in the region, including the construction of a corridor from Azerbaijan to Nakhichevan, remains unchanged, as stated by the Armenian leader, in response  to a question from Lilit Minasyan, a member of parliament  from the ruling Civil Contract faction, during  a government hour in  the National Assembly on October 1,

ArmInfo. Armenia is not opposed to stimulating and developing digital assets, as they are the future, and ultimately, money will become a digital asset. Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan stated this during a government hour in  parliament.

ArmInfo. 5,019,829 AMD – this is the sum of “The Power of One Dram” initiative for September, which will be fully directed to the advancement of the “Specialization” program of the “Moonq” Technoschool. Established in Artsakh and now continuing its operations in Armenia, the school will enable more than 120 young people in the Lori region to receive professional education in their hometown.

ArmInfo. Armenia will decide on the model of its new power unit within one to two years, as stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan  during a  government hour in parliament on October 1. According to Pashinyan, discussions are currently underway with Russia, the United States, France, South Korea, and China.

ArmInfo. “Armenian Card” CJSC introduced the ArcaQR system, enabling payments via QR code with a single scan, directly from a bank account.

ArmInfo. There are aspects that require clarification in the issue of Yerevan's search for a model for constructing a new nuclear power unit in Armenia. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made this assessment on October 1 during a government hour in parliament.

ArmInfo. In the first phase of the universal health insurance system (starting in 2026) in Armenia, the annual health insurance package will be 129,600 drams, as stated by Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan  during a press conference on October 1.

ArmInfo. The uncertainty around the removal of Armenian airlines from the European Commission's EU Air Safety List persists.

ArmInfo. The dry figures of Armenia's draft state budget for 2026 conceal a lack of strategy. Thus, the lion's share of state treasury revenues will be provided through taxes, while overall expenditures, including capital expenditures, particularly, are planned without KPIs or performance assessments. The deficit will be covered by external loans. Therefore, while the RA state budget may appear balanced in terms of numbers,  it is lacking in content and can be sees as a "life support" budget, according to David Ananyan, economist, PhD in Economics, and former head of the State Revenue Committee.

ArmInfo. Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air has opened its 34th base at Yerevan's Zvartnots International Airport. Currently, two Wizz Air aircraft, Airbus  A321neos, will be based in the Armenian capital.
