ArmInfo.On February 5, a meeting was held in the Armenian government under the chairmanship of  Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, at which  problems of domestic and inter-regional passenger transportation and  ways to solve them were discussed.

The volume of industrial production in Armenia in 2019 compared to 2018 accelerated growth to 9% (against a slowdown in 2018 from 12.6% to 4.3%),  amounting to 2.104 trillion. drams ($ 4.4 billion). The acceleration  of the upward dynamics was provoked by the trend of the mining sector  from recession to growth with continued growth in the manufacturing  industry. In December 2019 alone, industrial production increased by  14.7% (against an increase of 12.5% in December 2018) with a volume  of 247.8 billion drams ($ 518.2 million).

ArmInfo. In Armenia, the growth of economic activity in January- December 2019 accelerated to 7.8% per annum, compared to a slowdown in 2018 to 5.8% from 7.7% in  2017.

ArmInfo.Armenian business will take part in the formation of strategic reserves of the country. Amendments to the Law on Material Reserves and the package of related  laws were discussed on February 5 at a meeting of the Standing  Committee on Defense and Security of the RA National Assembly.

On February 4, Minister of Finance Atom  Janjughazyan stated this at a hearing of Standing Committee on  Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affair of the National Assembly of the  Republic of Armenia.

According to the Central Bank of Armenia,  by the end of 2019, the share of the currency and dram components in  the total loan portfolio was almost equal - 50.1% against 49.9%,  while in 2018 the difference in favor of the currency component was   noticeable - 54.8% against 45.2%.

ArmInfo. Ameriabank provided significant quantitative and qualitative growth in the retail loan portfolio. As ArmInfo was explained in the press service of the bank,  in 2019 this portfolio grew by 48%, amounting to 178 billion drams.  At the same time, the share of non- performing loans in the loan  portfolio decreased significantly - to 1.9% in 2019 from 3.8% in  2018.
