ArmInfo. The powers of the  National Institute of Metrology of Armenia will be clarified and  expanded. Corresponding amendments will be made to the RA Law on  Ensuring the Uniformity of Measurements.  Presenting the legislative  amendments during a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee  on Economic Affairs, Deputy Minister of Economy Narek Hovakimyan  noted that the National Institute of Metrology will be granted  additional functions. In addition to storing and maintaining national  standards, its responsibilities will also include new areas of  activity, including the examination of equipment related to precious  metals, as well as the creation of a metrology council.

ArmInfo. In the long term, Armenia intends to pursue a path of spending containment and reduce the budget deficit to 1%, as stated by Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan  on September 24 during  a panel discussion  "Armenia's  New Reality as an Economic Shock."

Armenian authorities are proposing an amnesty for individual taxi drivers who, between 2015 and 2019, were required to obtain a license and pay the  corresponding state fee, but failed to do so. During its September 24  session, the RA National Assembly Committee on Economic Affairs  approved the amendments to the relevant law submitted by  the RA  government.

ArmInfo Armenia will introduce a digital customs system to enable electronic  calculation and settlement of customs obligations. During its session  on September 24, the RA National Assembly Committee on Economic  Affairs issued a positive opinion on the amendments to the Law "On  Customs Regulation" submitted by the government.

ArmInfo.As part of the financial literacy campaign, another meeting of IDBank and Idram representatives took place in Kapan with students of the “Moonq” Technoschool. During the meeting, Tatevik Vardevanyan, Head of the Communication and Social Responsibility Programs Department of IDBank and Idram, spoke about the importance of financial literacy in modern life and presented key concepts: what is a budget, how to create one, why saving matters, how to distinguish between desires and real needs, what role banks play, and why financial literacy is important in everyday life.

The State Revenue Committee (SRC) is hosting high-level delegations from member states in Yerevan from September 22 to 24 as part of the 24th meeting of the Coordination Council of the Heads of Tax (Financial)  Investigation Agencies of CIS Member States.  Delegations from  Armenia, the Russian Federation, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and  Uzbekistan are participating in the regular meeting of the  Coordination Council.
