ArmInfo.  Some circles and media outlets in Armenia are trying to create the impression that the country has some  economic issues with Russia, but there are none. Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Ruben Rubinyan made this statement in a conversation with journalists in the NA.

ArmInfo.  The Asian Development Bank (ADB) forecasts GDP growth for Armenia of 5.5% in 2026 (compared to 7.2% in 2025), accelerating to 5.7% in 2027. According to the ADB forecast, inflation in Armenia will accelerate  to 3.8% in 2026 (from 3.3% in 2025) and then retreat to 3.2% in 2027,  as noted in the Asian Development Bank's April report "Asian  Development.  Outlook. The Middle East Conflict Challenges Resilience  in Asia and the Pacific".

ArmInfo. The need to address issues identified during the implementation of  the Law "On Tax Service" has prompted the  submission of a package of draft amendments and additions, along with related draft laws. On April 14,  the initiative was discussed in its second reading during the plenary  session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.

ArmInfo. The fourth conference dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI), AI Conf Armenia 2026, will take place in Yerevan, bringing together leading experts,  scientists, business representatives, and everyone interested in the  future of AI in the country.

ArmInfo. Armenia intends to ratify the amendments to the multilateral agreement between competent authorities on the automatic exchange of financial account information.

ArmInfo. VAT rules for sales of gold and precious stone items will be revised in Armenia. At its  plenary session on April 14, the National Assembly of the Republic of  Armenia will discuss amendments to the Tax Code submitted by the  Armenian government for the first reading.

ArmInfo.  Customs inspections in Armenia will be similar to tax inspections. This was announced by  Eduard Hakobyan, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, at the  plenary session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia  on April 14, after presenting amendments to the Law "On Customs  Regulation" in the first reading.

ArmInfo.  The government will assist farmers in purchasing fertilizers at affordable prices.  Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan announced this in a video  message on his official Facebook page.

ArmInfo.  Armenia is ready to continue to expand mutual trade with Kazakhstan in a balanced manner  on mutually beneficial terms. This was stated by Deputy Minister of  Economy of Armenia Anushik Avetyan and a delegation led by Gabidulla  Ospankulov, Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of  Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

ArmInfo.  The global economy is entering a new phase based on artificial intelligence (AI) systems, in which small countries can gain a strategic advantage if they set  the right priorities and effectively seize the moment. This was  stated by Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar  Hayrapetyan, speaking at the TEDx forum - "Vision of the Future."

ArmInfo.  Armenia will soften its approach to initiating criminal cases against businesses for tax evasion. At its plenary session on April 14, the National Assembly of  the Republic of Armenia will discuss in the first reading amendments  to the Tax Code and a package of related laws submitted by the  Armenian government.

ArmInfo.A regular meeting of the Management Board of the North-South Road Corridor Reconstruction and Improvement Programs, the M-6 Vanadzor-Alaverdi- Georgian Border Interstate Highway, the Sustainable Urban Development Investment Program, and the Northern Corridor Modernization Program was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan.

ArmInfo. The Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine CJSC is entering a new phase of productivity growth. In the near future, it plans to increase annual ore processing volume from 22 million tons to 30 million.

ArmInfo. A five-day seminar on "Cybersecurity Risk Management" is currently taking place in Yerevan, led by specialists from Carnegie Mellon University.  

ArmInfo. With the support of Estonia, ESTDEV (Estonian Centre for International Development) and the Visionest Institute, the Armenian Ministry of Economy has launched a new export accelerator program.

ArmInfo. Officers from the State Revenue Committee have prevented the import of a large batch of contraband cigarettes into the country.

ArmInfo. Since 2018, 288,000 jobs have been created in Armenia, as announced by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan  during a working breakfast with representatives of Armenia's largest employers on April 13.

ArmInfo. According to the American magazine Forbes, the net worth of Russian businessman of Armenian descent Samvel Karapetyan increased by $900 million in a  year, reaching $4.1 billion. Narek Karapetyan, a member of the  political council of the Strong Armenia party, wrote about this on  his Facebook page, publishing a corresponding Forbes article.
