Financial ombudsman's office receives 149 application-complaints in 4Q 2010


ArmInfo. The Financial ombudsman's office received 149 application-complaints in 4Q 2010. According to the law "On ombudsman of financial system", 35 out of the total number of applications were not justiciable in the ombudsman's office.

The total of 50 applications were in the written form, 6 of them were regarding the insurance, 11 - credit deals, 2 - payment operations and 31 - collateral loan business. Two out of 50 application-complaints submitted to the office in the written form were against credit organizations, 11 - against banks, 6 - against insurance companies and 31 - against pawnshops. Eight applications are still being discussed.

To note, Financial Ombudsman's Office has been functioning in Armenia since the beginning of 2009 and gives free of charge services. Financial organizations themselves pay for these services.
