In Jan 2011 Financial Ombudsman's Office received no complaints against banks
ArmInfo. In Jan 2011 the Armenian Financial Ombudsman's Office received 35 complaints. The Financial Ombudsman's Office told ArmInfo that 13 out of the total number of complaints were not subject to consideration in accordance with the law "On the ombudsman of the financial system".
According to the source, on 20 out of the 22 complaints subject to consideration the clients failed to apply to the financial organization preliminarily; the other 2 complaints were submitted to the office in the written form: 1 complaint was against insurable cases in transport insurance and 1 complain was against insurable cases in insurance of those going abroad.
One of these 2 complaints was satisfied by means of reconciliation, and the other one is still being investigated. In Jan 2011 the Financial Ombudsman's Office received no complaints against the banks. As of 1 Feb 2011, compensation worth 118 thsd AMD for insurable cases was provided. To note, the services of the Financial Ombudsman that has been operating in Armenia since early 2009 are provided free of charge, and the Financial Ombudsman's work is paid for by the financial organizations.
