Central Bank of Armenia intends to hold II Forum of Armenian Banks in the USA
ArmInfo. The forums of Armenian banks aimed at attracting new investments will also be held in the future. Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) Artur Javadyan told ArmInfo that II Forum of Armenian Banks will be organized for the representatives of the Armenian Diaspora of the United States.
"Upon completion of the first Forum of Armenian Banks in L.A. on September 25, it became clear that the Armenian Diaspora is not so well aware of the situation and stability in the financial system of Armenia. It is no secret that the Armenian community of the U.S. is one of the largest ones. Moreover, as the economy of California is the 9th biggest in the world, and the one of Los Angeles is the 16th", Javadyan said. He pointed out that the decision to hold the next forum in the U.S. is conditioned by the necessity to raise the awareness of the Armenian community in the U.S., as well as the American businessmen's awareness of the investment climate in Armenia.
To remind, the heads and representatives of about 10 Armenian banks participated in the first forum in the United States. The forum was organized on the initiative of the Union of Banks of Armenia. The Armenian bankers familiarized the forum participants with the current state of the financial system, investment climate, normative field, as well as with the advantages and services of the country's banking system.
According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the commercial banks and credit organizations of Armenia received 4.5 mln USD investments over Jan-June 2011.
