Union of Armenian Banks (UAB) launches e:financial library UBank in Armenia
Arminfo. Union of Armenian Banks (UAB) has launched an e:financial library UBank in Armenia, which was officially presented on 11 April. The library was placed at www.e-library.uba.am in Armenian and English.
As chairman of the UAB Ashot Osipyan said the library contains a unique collection of modern financial and banking literature for students and professionals.
In Armenia there is shortage of the special literature especially in Armenian, he said and added that about 80 books published for the last 2-3 years, have been placed in the library, which were chosen by the two criteria: the world rating and the demand in Armenia. "The library mainly has books on the banking business, banking strategy, risk-management, international finances, investments and shares markets as well as on finance management and finance regulation. Not only scientific materials have been placed in the website but also analytical articles of known experts and international structures as well as annual reports of Armenian banks and the analysis of the UAB", - Osipyan said and added that the e:library will be upgraded and replenished with new books year by year, many of them will be translated in Armenian.
For her part, the head of USAID in Armenia Jatinder Cheema said about the importance of creation of the e:libraries in the context of making the specialized literature available for ordinary readers.
For his part, executive director of the UAB, Seyran Grigoryan, said that about $68 thsd were invested in the project, 30% of which were allocated by the UAB and 70% by the USAID. Five months were spent to create the library and copyrights were purchased from the leaders of the world printing industry - WILLI and McMillan.
The UBAnk project was created within the frames of the USAID programme "Partnership for financial stability".
