ArmInfo. As much as 106.846mln AMD was paid as compensation due to the agency of the Financial Ombudsman in 2012.
The Office of the Financial Ombudsman reports that 88.3% of this sum was paid by insurance companies, 8.3% by banks, 1.6% by the Bureau of Car Insurers, 1.3% by pawnshops, 0.5% by credit companies.
During the period the Office received 1,271 complaints (275 against insurance companies, 93 against banks), with 68% of them settled in favor of the complainers.
A total of 220.304mln AMD has been paid as compensation since the opening of the Office in Jan 2009.
The founder of the Office of the Financial Ombudsman is the Central Bank. The services of the Office are free of charge.
