ENA Director General: There are all the preconditions to rule out any debts of Electric Networks in the future also

ArmInfo. The Electric Networks of Armenia JSC does not deal with  tariffs setting, that is the function of the Public Services Regulating Commission, Karen Haroutyunyan, the Director General of the company stated commenting the PSRC decision on reduction of tariffs starting from February 1, 2017.

According to Haroutyunyan, the regulator undertakes appropriate steps in respect to tariffs decrease. The Director General mentioned that, as a rule, the Commission reimburses justified losses through setting appropriate margin. As of today, the Company has no out of date overdues. " We got all the preconditions to rule those out in the future as well," Karen Haroutyunyan accentuated.

Answering the question of ArmInfo regarding the impact of upcoming works on Armenian NPP 2-nd unit lifetime extension  on the Company's activities, the Director General mentioned that all the risks are covered by the margin, set by PSRC. To mention, due to the decision of PSRC  of December 23, starting with February 1, 2017 new tariffs for electric energy will be applied in Armenia, decreasing the rate for AMD 6,2  for socially vulnerable part of  the population, and for AMD 1,22 in respect to all other consumers.
