ArmInfo. In 2017, the Armenian government will allocate 1.2bln AMD for subsidizing interest on the leasing of agricultural machinery, on February 16 at a press conference in Yerevan, the Minister of Agriculture Ignati Araqelyan said.
According to him, the leasing of agricultural equipment support program will be presented to companies and agencies for discussion in next week. The main objective of the program will be to ensure low interest rates, which will allow farmers and farms to buy farm machinery on favorable terms.
To recall, on January 26, at a government meeting, Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan instructed Agriculture Minister Ignati Araqelyan to submit a draft program to promote leasing of agricultural machinery within one month. The Prime Minister also instructed to meet with representatives of the manufacturers of agricultural machinery from Russia and other countries to discuss the terms of delivery in a 15-day period. "We need to implement this program intensively and consistently ", Karapetyan said.
