ArmInfo. September 15 at the Center of Russian Science and Culture in Yerevan with the participation of the Russian State Corporation Rosatom will host a seminar on "Using atomic technologies for non-energy purposes to improve the quality of people's lives.
"The event is organized within the framework of cooperation between Russia and Armenia in the field of nuclear energy. In Armenia, nuclear power plays an important role, meanwhile, the possibilities of using atomic (radiation) technologies are much wider. Often we do not even know that tropical fruits, car tires, chips in mobile phones, precious stones and much more gets to us, including, after processing with the use of radiation technology. How to defeat cancer with the help of nuclear medicine methods? What is a cyber knife and how to take radiation pills? How do nuclear technologies increase yields? How can I sterilize the materials inside the package? Which engine is capable of carrying a spaceship to other galaxies? The answers to these and other questions will be provided by experts from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.
The State Atomic Energy Corporation "Rosatom" unites more than 350 enterprises and scientific institutions, including all civilian companies of the nuclear industry of Russia, research centers and the world's only nuclear fleet. "Rosatom" takes a leading position in the world market of nuclear technologies. At present, Rosatom is building 8 power units in Russia and 34 power units abroad, Rosatom is Armenia's partner in the modernization of Metsamor NPP and provides the station with nuclear fuel. The Russian Center of Science and Culture in Yerevan was opened on April 16, 2009.
