ArmInfo. The Armenian winemaking companies were awarded medals of the annual international exhibition ProWein 2018, held in the German city of Dusseldorf. The press service of the RA Ministry of Agriculture reports.
According to the source, 16 wineries of Armenia presented their products - wines and spirits - at the exhibition as a single pavilion. Their participation in the event became possible thanks to the assistance of the Foundation for the Development of Viticulture and Wine-making. The companies presented more than 130 types of quiet and sparkling wines. Within the framework of the event, winemaker Willie Opitz presented a presentation of Armenian wines for international media, specialists and sales representatives. According to the preliminary analysis, the participants of the exhibition held more than 500 meetings with potential buyers, the result of which was the achievement of 200 preliminary agreements.
6,600 companies attended the exhibition, and the number of visitors was about 60 thousand.
In comparison with other international exhibitions, such as Italian Vinitaly or French Vinexpo, where the accent is on representation of the country-organizer, Prowein is more universal. Here the wine-producing countries are represented in almost equal shares. As part of the exhibition ProWein 2018, reports were read on culinary news, various seminars, presentations and other events totaling more than 250 were held. Vodka, cognac, gin, whiskey, rum, brandy, liqueurs, liqueurs, grape wines, fortified wines (port wine, sherry, Madera), vermouth, dessert, dry and sparkling wines.
