ArmInfo. In the first quarter of 2018, the volume of import of cars to Armenia from third countries increased by 168.1%. According to Karen Gevorgyan, Deputy Chief of the Ararat Customs Department, 13,768 cars were imported to Armenia in January-March of this year, as a result of customs clearance 8.859 billion drams were received to the state budget.
"This figure for 8633 vehicles exceeds the figures for the same period in 2017. In particular, in January-March of the previous year 5135 cars were imported to Armenia, 3,180 billion AMD were transferred to the state budget, which provided 278.6% growth of state revenues. The growth is due to the introduction of new rules for determining the customs value of cars," Karen Gevorgyan said. At the beginning of the year, the State Revenue Committee, as part of the reform process, made unprecedented innovations in simplifying customs clearance. In particular, it is about publishing information on the customs value of cars on the official website of the petekamutner.am Committee since January 8. According to Karen Gevorgyan, information posted on the site is periodically studied, revised and updated. "An automatic meter for determining the customs value of the car has been used since April 10. It provides citizens with the opportunity to be informed in advance about the amount of customs payments," said the head of the department.
