Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan received the Executive Director of the consortium of Dutch company Fotowatio Renewable Ventures B.V and the Spanish company FSL Solar S.L. in the countries of the Middle East, Africa and new territories of Nicolas Faskel and the executive director of the consortium for the Middle East, Asia and Australia, Tristan Iguero.
According to the press service of the Armenian Government, the sides discussed the implementation of the program for the construction of a solar power station Masrik-1 with a capacity of 55 MW, the right to implement it as a result of an international competition was received by the above consortium.
Karen Karapetyan noted that the Armenian government attaches great importance to the implementation of programs aimed at the development of solar energy, in this context, noting the importance of the program for the construction of a 55 MW solar power station Masrik-1. He stressed that the Government is ready to work closely with partners to successfully implement the program.
Representatives of the consortium of Dutch company Fotowatio Renewable Ventures B.V and Spanish company FSL Solar S.L. noted that they are interested in implementing this program in the field of solar energy in our country and presented their experience in the development of solar energy in various countries. Earlier, responding to the question of ArmInfo, Deputy Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources Hayk Harutyunyan noted that the solar photovoltaic station MasRIC-1 in the community of Masrik of Gegharkunik region of Armenia will provide 2% of the total energy produced in the republic. The construction program will start in early 2019 and will be completed by the end of the year. The Deputy Minister reminded that about 7 dozens of companies submitted a preliminary application for participation in the international tender for the investor's choice of the project, 20 companies submitted an application for participation in the prequalification stage, 10 - overcame it. Already 5 of them submitted the final application for the project. According to the results of the international tender, the international consortium, consisting of world-renowned companies - Dutch Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) and Spanish FSL Solar SL, that won the right to build a 55-MW Masrik-1 solar power plant in Armenia low tariff from the future solar generation facility - $ 0.0419 of electricity without VAT or 20.11 AMD per 1 kW / h of electricity. "For comparison, I note that the tariff for small hydropower projects in Armenia is 23.8 drams per 1 kWh of electricity, that is 20% more expensive," Harutyunyan said.
