ArmInfo. Minister of Agriculture Artur Khachatryan, together with his deputy Armen Harutyunyan, visited the Agribusiness and Villages Development Fund (CARD).
According to the press service of the ministry, during the meeting the parties discussed the possibilities to stimulate the use of advanced technologies in agriculture, the production of competitive food products for domestic and international markets, the improvement of food quality and safety in the processing and service sectors, as well as issues related to the improvement of genetic animal properties, health and livestock practices.
Director of the Fund Gagik Sardaryan gave a detailed account of the structure and programs of the Fund aimed at reducing poverty in rural areas.
Note that the Agribusiness and Rural Development Fund (CARD) was founded in 2005 as the successor of the US Department of Agriculture's US Department of Agriculture (USDA-MAP) Marketing Assistance Program. CARD's mission is to support farmers and agribusinesses in the production and marketing of food products to increase incomes and create jobs that will lead to a sustainable rural life and contribute to the eradication of poverty.
