ArmInfo. Within the framework of the "New Generation" program in September 2018, the second stage of a set of trainees will begin for work at the enterprises of the aluminum company "Rusal". This was told in an interview with Nezavisimaya Gazeta by the HR Director of Rusal, Natalia Beketova.
One of the world's largest producers of aluminum, Rusal, in early 2017, launched the "New Generation" program, aimed at attracting young prospective employees, both workers and specialists. Since the start of the project, more than 220 people, including from Armenia, have been trained, and more than 75 percent of them have become employees of the aluminum holding. The program gives its participants the opportunity to pass a paid internship at any enterprise or in the structural division of the company where the relevant vacancy is open. In addition to the knowledge gained, the participants of the program, if successful, get an opportunity for employment. The program offered to trainees is designed for 6 months for managers and for 3 months for representatives of working specialties. Each trainee receives a mentor and HR curator, they make up an individual development program, help to adapt to the enterprise and plan the time so as to combine practice and training. The participant of the "New Generation" program, Gor Hodjayan, was accepted as a repairman by the locksmith on the site of the "Armenal" enterprise (part of "Rusal") located in Armenia, and recently became the foreman of the repair section of the lifting mechanisms. "I graduated from the Bachelor of Architecture and Civil Engineering of Armenia and now I am studying at the Master's course of the correspondence department of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia and I learned about the internship from the future mentor - the master of the repair section of Gagik Matosyan's lifting equipment - and decided to try his hand at production," he said. "It was interesting, because everything was new for me, but I did not encounter insurmountable difficulties yet. Without an internship, I would not have acquired practical skills, theoretical knowledge is not enough for our profession. "According to Hor, after completing the magistracy he hopes to continue his career at Armenal.
"It's always interesting, especially if the trainee shows interest and wit," Gagik Matosyan said. "Working with the trainee is a little distracting from the main job, but we at the plant pay special attention to training of young people, we consider this one of the main duties."
"For me, practically everything in the plant was new and unfamiliar," said another intern of Armenal, a foundry worker Mushegh Shambaryan. "For example, I read about induction furnaces, but I've never seen them, but now I practice in the process of melting metal and understand what is happening in production much better." I did not imagine it in the student's audience. I realized that you can know a lot theoretically, but you can not apply this is in practice, only the plant gives this opportunity. " About the program Mushegh learned from a classmate, who already works for Armenal. "It was he who reported about the project" New Generation ". It seemed to me interesting. As a student, I went through an industrial practice here, after which I decided to continue working, " he shared.
According to his mentor, the senior master of the smelting and casting department of Vardan Gasparyan, such an internship is not just interesting, but necessary. "Trainees of the New Generation project will participate in the implementation of new approaches, new programs, so investing in prospective staff is an investment in the future," he said.
