ArmInfo. The fight against corruption, the elimination of monopolies and the formation of an equal competitive field were on the agenda until the April revolution in Armenia, but only in the form of measures. The chairman of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Armenia Arsen Ghazaryan said this at a meeting with the representative of the World Bank Sarah Nyman.
According to him, which leads the organization's press service, within just a few months the situation in the country has changed dramatically, a big take-off was recorded, there is no corruption, there is an equal competitive field, there are no monopolists.
"As a result, the public quickly cleans itself," noted Arsen Ghazaryan. According to him, during the previous 30 years this issue was constantly raised, but it was really resolved as a result of a clear and decisive display of will. "This achievement must be capitalized immediately. In the Eurasian economic system, our model must be presented, which can be an example for others," the head of the Union emphasized. In turn, World Bank Program Manager Sarah Niemann noted that the Bank repeatedly assisted specific firms, since in conditions of widespread corruption, funds were sprayed and used ineffectively. Fully agreeing with this opinion, Arsen Ghazaryan added at the same time that consultations on international institutions and structures on this issue could become more profitable. "Our economy in this transition period will still need financial assistance for 2-3 years, after which development will be ensured," said Arsen Ghazaryan. It should be noted that Armenia, which has been a member of the World Bank since 1992 and a member of the International Development Association since 1993, was provided with $ 2.3 billion.
