ArmInfo. The RA government is interested in attracting Lithuanian capital to the Armenian market.
On October 9, during a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkiaviches, who arrived in Yerevan to participate in the 17th summit of the International Organization of Francophone, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.
According to the press service of the government, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of the continued development of Armenian-Lithuanian relations, including within the framework of international organizations. Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the need to stimulate economic cooperation. The head of government noted that at present reforms are being carried out in Armenia to improve the business environment, which will ensure investment security, a free and transparent business environment. Linas Linkyavichyus noted that he closely followed the political events in Armenia and noted the importance of their peaceful nature, as well as the changes implemented in a democratic way. He expressed conviction that the ongoing reforms in Armenia will give a new impetus to bilateral economic relations. The Foreign Minister stressed that Lithuania is ready to share with Armenian colleagues her experience in the fight against corruption, the formation of a fair judicial system and in other areas. Speaking about the Armenia-EU relations, Nikol Pashinyan noted the importance of the earliest possible ratification and full application of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the European Union. The head of government stressed that Armenia attaches importance to the development and expansion of cooperation with the EU in different directions. During the meeting, the interlocutors touched upon regional issues, discussed other issues of bilateral interest. An exchange of views on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict also took place. Nikol Pashinyan noted the importance of creating an appropriate atmosphere for the negotiation process and exclusively peaceful settlement of the problem.
