First Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Manukyan, who presented the draft decision, noted that the aim of the document is to overcome extreme food poverty among a certain category of persons. At present, the First Deputy Minister continued, the old age rate is 16 thousand drams, the disabled of the first group receive monthly allowances of 21.5 thousand drams, the second group - 19 thousand drams, the third group - 16 thousand drams. In addition, with the loss of the breadwinner, a monthly allowance of 16 thousand drams is paid. Now it is proposed to establish a common rate of 25.5 thousand drams for these categories of socially disadvantaged groups of the population.
As First Deputy Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan noted in his speech, this is a very important initiative aimed at overcoming extreme food poverty. "Armenia is a social country, and the state has the obligation to the socially disadvantaged groups of the population, and the submitted document is aimed at resolving this issue," the First Deputy Prime Minister said.
