ArmInfo. In the context of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, a significant flow of capital and people to Armenia continues, Armenia's Deputy Minister of Finance Vahan Sirunyan stated at a meeting of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, RA National Assembly.
As a result of this influx, as the Deputy Minister noted, in the first 9 months of this year there was a sharp increase (85%) in exports from Armenia to the Russian Federation. Moreover, in this volume, re-exports increased by 80.6%, and products from domestic producers only by 4.4%.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that in January-September of this year there was an increase in tourist activity. The number of tourists visiting Armenia during this period increased by 48.4%. The list of countries whose citizens visited the country was dominated by tourists from Russia, the growth of visits to which increased by 29.1%. In general, 1 million 839 thousand people visited Armenia this year. Meanwhile, during the specified period, remittances to Armenia decreased by 29.1%. Moreover, in the volume of transfers, only transfers from Russia were in a positive trend - the growth of money transfers from the Russian Federation increased by 27.4%, from other countries the volume of transfers decreased by 50.5%.
