HSBC Bank Armenia to keep on investing in innovative banking technologies in 2010
ArmInfo. HSBC Bank Armenia is expected to invest $1 million in innovative banking technologies in 2010, says Astrid Clifford, HSBC Bank Armenia CEO.
She said that the bank will introduce 3 new cash-in advanced models of ATMs. In addition, the bank is expected to introduce ArCa Link plastic cards shortly as well as to issue chip debit cards till the end of the year. The bank's strategy is partly aimed to extend online services, A. Clifford said. By present the bank has issued nearly 15000 plastic cards (ArCa and MasterCard) and will increase this figure nearly by 30% till the end of 2010.
She recalled that the bank launched a project of telephone banking in March 2009 and internet banking in July investing nearly $2.5 million
in these projects in total. These services are in demand by 12650 and 2000 clients, respectively. A. Clifford said that the bank is expected to grow the telephone banking and internet banking clients to 20,000 and 7,000 respectively. Saving time is one of the key advantages of online service. Clients have an opportunity to make transactions at home or office at any time convenient to them. HSBC Bank Armenia serves nearly 50 ATMs. 100 POS-terminals at the key trade centers mainly in Yerevan.
