Activity in real estate market down 53% in January 2010
ArmInfo. A total of 8131 transactions were registered in the real estate market in Armenia in Jan 2010 which was 11.7% higher than in Jan 2009 and 52.9% lower than in Dec 2009, the State Real Estate Committee of Armenia told ArmInfo.
The share of the transactions made in Yerevan was the largest - 28.4% of total. Almost 17% of all the transactions were made in Kotayk region, and 10.2% in Gegharkunik. The lowest indicator was in Vayots Dzor - 2.2% of total transactions.
Transactions on alienation of real estate was 30% (2437) of total transactions with real estate, including 81.5% were purchase-and-sale transactions, 17.4% were donations and 1.1% - exchanges. Primary registration totaled 12.1% of total transactions, 11.3% were transfers of real estate by inheritance, 8.7% were hypothec transactions, 6.8% were leasing, 0.4% were privatizations (through denationalization of state property). Other state registrations of real estate totaled 31.1%.
