As of early July 2010 ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank covers 18% of Armenian market of plastic cards
ArmInfo. Over Q2 2010 ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank increased the number of plastic cards by 7,5% to 90 thsd cards, or 18% of the Armenian market of plastic cards.
ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank told ArmInfo that in the total number of the bank's cards the lion's share fell on ArCa local cards - 49% or 43.8 thsd cards (4% quarterly growth), 46,8% or 42.1 thsd fell on international Visa cards (3,5% quarterly growth), 4,2% or 3.8 thsd fell on MasterCards - (4,5-fold growth). Over Q2 2010 the bank installed 3 new bancomats, and increased their number to 110. As of 1 July 2010 the bank had 963 POS-terminals against 778 POS-terminals as of the end of Q1 2010.
According to the source, since late March 2010 all the bancomats of ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank have been serving American Express cards as well. The relevant agreement on cooperation was concluded in August 2009.
As of 1 July 2010, the number of MasterCard plastic cards issued by the Armenian Card member banks amounted to 82375, Visa - 126767, and local ArCa cards - 295556.
To note, as of the end of Q1 2010, ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank had 36 branches, of them 31 in the regions of Armenia, and 5 in Yerevan.
