Over first half of 2011 Armenian insurers made 1.9 bln AMD motor third party liability insurance payments
ArmInfo. Over the first half of 2011 the Armenian insurers made 1.9 bln AMD motor third party liability insurance (MTPL) payments. According to the statistics published on the official website of Motor Insurers' Bureau of Armenia, the insurance companies of Armenia satisfied 9574 applications on insured events over the period under review.
According to the source, at the end of the first half of 2011, the amount of the upcoming payments (stated but not regulated) for MTPL totaled 676.9 mln AMD.
The statistics of the Bureau says that over the first half of 2011, Rosgosstrakh Armenia is in the lead by MTPL payments with 649.3 mln AMD (3433 insured events), INGO Armenia ranks next with 370.068 mln AMD (1661 insured events), RESO occupies the third place with 256.8 mln AMD (1226 insured events), Nairi Insurance occupies the fourth position with 197.9 mln AMD (1006 insured events). The top five is accomplished with Garant Limens with 160.3 mln AMD. The following insurance companies rank next: Cascade Insurance - 101.1 mln AMD, SIL Insurance with 90.4 mln AMD, RASCO with 77.6 mln AMD.
Over the first half of 2011 the Motor Insurers' Bureau of Armenia made 9.7 mln AMD compensatory payments (17 insured events).
According to the Burea, now a total of 349038 drivers in Armenia have MTPL policies, and the total amount of insurance contributions made by them is 12.1 bln AMD. Almost 80% of MTPL agreements belong to 4 players of the insurance market. Most of them, particularly, 114713 fell on Rosgosstrakh Armenia. RESO ranks next (57895 cars); INGO Armenia occupies the third place (55719 cars), Nairi Insurance occupies the fourth place (42736 cars). The other 4 insurers – Garant Limens, Cascade Insurance, RASCO and SIL Insurance insured 23705, 21411, 19609, and 13250 cars respectively.
To recall, MTPL was introduced in Armenia at the beginning of 2011.
