Armenian banks to start taking active part in training process of future bankers and financial experts
Arminfo. An agreement on mutual cooperation was signed today between the Union of Armenian Banks (UAB) and State Economic Institute. According to this agreement, the private business, in this case the banking sector, will take an active part in the training process of future bankers and financial experts.
As rector of the Institute Koryun Atoyan said in the office of the UAB, the agreement will allow the Institute to restore the broken link with the private sector, to correctly assess requirements of employers and in this way to raise the education level in the Institute. The whole process of training of students will develop with active cooperation with commercial banks of the country and the UAB. The students will get practical knowledge in the banks of the country and in the UAB. Specialists of these structures will deliver lectures to students.
He also added that the Institute signed similar agreements with Armenian Finance Ministry and Tax Service.
Chairman of the UAB Ashot Osipyan added that it is for the first time that UAB has been implementing such a long-term educational programme. He assured that within the frames of cooperation with the Economic Institute, the UAB and the banks will try to train the students for better experience in the banking business. He also added that the task of the UAB is to grow up high quality specialists which will work in the "narrow" spheres of banking, such as - risk-management. He said that today about 9500 people have been employed in the banking system of the country.
