Over Jan-Sept 2011 gold export from Armenia grew 2.5 times in money terms
ArmInfo. Over Jan-Sept 2011 gold export from Armenia grew by 62% to 1606 kg (including the galvanic platinum spattering) against 988 kg over the same period of 2010, the report of the Armenian Customs Service says.
The customs value of the gold exported over the period under review made up $43.137 mln, having grown 2.5 times against $17.089 mln over Jan-Sept 2010. The specialists of the Armenian Economy Ministry think that the high growth of the export is conditioned by the growth in the world prices of gold and by the favorable market conjuncture.
Over Jan-Sept 2011, a total of 1198 kg of gold worth $60.967 mln (including the galvanic platinum spattering) was imported to the republic against 971 kg worth $36.665 mln over Jan-Sept 2010.
To note, Dore gold with up to 92% gold content is exported from Armenia. The republic does not produce any bank gold bars.
