Employees of Trade Finance Department of Ameriabank demonstrate 100% result at EBRD's online seminars
ArmInfo. Ameriabank's employees from the Trade Finance Department demonstrated a 100% result at the online seminars organized by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The press service of Ameriabank told ArmInfo that the Bank's employees have been provided two-week retraining courses in Commerzbank and the opportunity to use DC-PRO software (two out of the four awards envisaged). According to the Bank, this program is widely used in trade financing.
The source said that a total of 360 employees from 83 banks of 17 countries participated in the online training. EBRD has been organizing e-learning online for the employees of the partner banks for two years under the Trade Facilitation Programme (TFP). The schedule of e-learning envisages familiarizing with seven program units within a year and on-line examinations. The given seminars aim to develop trade financing from Central Europe to Central Asia, as well as to contribute to introduction of international standards in this dimension.
Head of Trade Financing Department of Ameriabank Souren Kocharyan said that e-learning has provided an opportunity to get familiarized with the innovations in the international trade facilitation practice, particularly, with the business climate in this environment and with the latest achievements of the social risk management system.
With 58 mln USD for trade financing, Ameriabank is actively cooperating with a number of international financial institutions, particularly, with the International Finance Corporation, Asian Development Bank, Citibank, BNP Paribas, Unicredit Bank, Commerzbank, etc. Recently Unicredit Bank opened a credit line worth 5 mln USD for Ameriabank for trade financing. There is one more credit line with the same amount for management of daily cash flows.
To recall, in 2011 under the Global Trade Finance Program, Ameriabank received GTFP Award 2010 from the IFC as the most active issuer bank in the South Caucasus.
