In Q3 2013 total capital of Armenia's banking system grew by 3.8% to $1.1bln
ArmInfo. In Q3 2013 the total capital of Armenia's banking system grew by 3.8% to 428.7bln AMD or $1.1bln. As compared with Q3 2012 it grew by 12.4%.
The authorized capital grew by 2.7% and 6.2%, respectively, to 249.6bln AMD or $615.9mln, the foreign capital grew by 4.3% and 4.4%, respectively, to 185.4bln AMD or $457.5mln, with the share of the foreign capital in the authorized one dropping to 74.3%.
The growth in the index was due to an increase in the capitals of Areximbank-Gazprombank Group and ProCredit Bank.
The press service of the Central Bank of Armenia reports that the share of the accumulated profit in the total capital made up 30% or 127.3bln AMD ($314.2mln) - 7.9% more than in Q2 2013 and 2.7% more than in Q3 2012.
The liabilities grew by 2.8% and 17.1%, respectively, to 2.3tln AMD, the assets grew by 2.9% and 16.3%, respectively, to 2.7tln AMD.
As of Oct 1 2013 there were 22 banks with 481 branches in Armenia.
