ArmInfo. In Jan-Jul 2014, the World Bank lent 2.9 bln AMD ($7.1 mln) to the capital construction in Armenia, or 23.8% of total international lending to Armenia's construction sector, which amounted to 12.3 bln AMD ($29.9 mln).
As compared with Jan-Jul 2013, the WB's investments in Armenia's construction sector dropped by 28.1%. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development invested about 3 bln AMD ($7.3 mln, down 6.3-fold versus Jan-Jul 2013), or 24.3% of total lending to that sector. The Asian Development Bank lent 5.3 bln AMD ($12.9 mln, up 4.7-fold), the German Development Bank - 696 mln AMD ($1.7 mln, down 66.8%). The National Statistical Service of Armenia reports that in Jan-Jul 2014 the total capital investment in Armenia's construction sector amounted to about 160 bln AMD ($389 mln, up 0.5% versus Jan-Jul 2013). According to the statistics, in Jan-Jul 2014 the state budget invested about 24 bln AMD ($58.3 mln, up 6.3% versus Jan-Jul 2013) in capital construction, or 15% of total funds spent on construction; organizations - 76.2 bln AMD ($185.4 mln, up 5.3%); Armenian population - 32.7 bln AMD ($79.4 mln, down 29.7%); Hayastan All-Armenian Fund - 199.4 mln AMD (down 16.4%), the Armenian Apostolic Church - 815.7 mln AMD (down 44.4%). In Jan-Jul 2014 developer companies invested 37.9 bln AMD (about $92.2 mln, or 23.7% of total funds spent on construction), transport - 23.6 bln AMD ($57.4 mln, or 14.8%), electric power and gas supply sector - 13.5 bln AMD ($32.7 mln, or 8.4%), processing industry - 13.3 bln AMD (8.3% of total), mining industry - 7.9 bln AMD ($19.3 mln, or 5%), water supply sector - 9.3 bln AMD (5.8%), wholesale and retail trade - 6.3 bln AMD (4%), information and communication sector - 8.1 bln AMD (5%), public catering - about 6 bln AMD (4%), education - 10.6 bln AMD ($25.7 mln, or 6.6%), agrarian sector - 4.2 bln AMD (2.6%), culture - 2.9 bln AMD (1.8%), financial sector - 1.5 bln AMD ($3.6 mln, or 0.9%), health sector - 1.4 bln AMD (0.9%). In Jan-Jul 2014 the average market AMD/USD exchange rate was 411.25 AMD/$1, and in July 2014 - 407.13 AMD/$1.
