ArmInfo. ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK has sponsored an exhibition dedicated to the 350th anniversary of the Ashtarak Bridge. It was built in 1664 by the efforts of Mahdesi Khoja Grigor, a wealthy merchant from Kanaker.
The exhibition has been organized by the Research on Armenian Architecture with the support and sponsorship of ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK. The exhibition opened in Yerevan at the Hovhannes Tumanyan House-Museum. The exhibition is entitled "Armenian Bridges".
The goal of the exhibition is to enhance the popularity of Armenian bridges, which are marvelous examples of secular architecture and hold a special place in the world heritage.
"Our homeland is rich in historical-cultural sights but it is better known for its churches than for its secular monuments. So, I decided to make a retrospective tour of Armenian bridges. Some of them are 2,000- year-old. So, we wish to make them known to the world," RAA Head Samvel Karapetyan said.
Deputy CEO of АCBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK Arsen Petrosyan said that the bank has sponsored a number of projects aimed to make Armenia's sights better known.
The exhibition will last till Nov 15.
