The 2.2% deflation in July 2015 was conditioned by foods that went down in price by 4.6% (or 4.1% if consider alcohol beverages and tobacco). Within the reported month prices for nonfoods went down by 0.7%, while service tariffs decreased by 0.1%.
Gurgen Martirosyan, the head of the RA National Statistical Service of Price Statistics and International Comparisons Department, said during an August 7 press conference that in Jan-Jul 2015 consumer
price index totaled 97,8%, including food products (alcohol and tobacco inclusive) - 93.6% and nonfoods - 103.3%, as well as service tariffs - 101%. These indicators for Jan-Jul 2015 versus Jan- Jul 2014 were as follows: 105%, 105,2%, 105,8% and 103,7% respectively. Compared with July 2014 in July 2015 the indicators were: 104,2%, 102,8%, 106,5% and 103,6% respectively. The average monthly fall of prices for Jan-Jul 2015 was 0,32% versus 0,05% growth for the same period of 2014.
The July deflation of food products (4.6% without alcohol and tobacco) was conditioned by 29,1-5,3% cheaper prices for vegetables, potatoes, fruit and eggs.
