In Jan-Jul 2015 nonfoods went up in price by 3.3% in Armenia (amid 5.8% yoy growth). In Jul 2015 alone the prices went down by 0.7% (amid 6.5% yoy growth).
Gurgen Martirosyan, the head of the RA National Statistical Service of Price Statistics and International Comparisons Department, said during an August 7 press conference that in July prices went down
mainly conditioned by cheaper shoes - 4.3%, clothing and knitwear - 3.1%; fuel - 1.2%, household appliances and jewellery - 0.7%, medicines - 0.6%, furniture and cleaning means - 0.5%, fabrics -
0.4%, construction materials - 0.3%. On the other hand, cosmetics went up in price by 1.5%, art works - 0.7%, kitchen equipment and office supplies - 0.4%, carpets - 0.1%. gasoline and diesel fuel prices increased by 2.0% and 1.8% respectively amid 8.7% and 8.1% yoy decrease and 7.6% and 9.4% in Jan-Jul 2015.
In July 2015 2.2% deflation was registered in the consumer market of Armenia (amid 4.2% yoy inflation); in Jan-Jul - 2.2% deflation (amid 5% yoy inflation).
