Implementation of common currency in EEU may be launched only within 40-50 years

ArmInfo. The issue of implementation of common currency in EEU may be discussed within 40-50 years, Artur Javadyan, Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia expressed this opinion during today's budget hearings in the Parliament.

Answering to the MPs' questions he noted that the monetary authorities of all the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union share this opinion. "The discussion of this issue may start no earlier than in 2025, " the Chairman of CBA noted. According to him, the opinion of political observers and experts should not be put into consideration. Moreover, Russian President Vladimir Putin's words were interpreted wrongly, as he has just instructed the Central Bank of Russia to present him a report on reasonability of passing to a common currency " It is out of the question the implementation of common currency for the countries with completely different economies and in the conditions of absence of common economic space," Javadyan noted.
