ArmInfo. Electric power generation in Armenia for Jan-Feb 2016 grew by 7% versus the same period of 2015 and totaled 1314.4 million kWh, the National Statistical Service of Armenia reports. In February alone, the electric power output dropped by 7.5% to 631.6 mln kWh.
In Jan-Feb 2016, the thermal power plants increased electric power output by 2.5% to 466.4 mln kWh. The hydropower plants increased generation by 27.1% to 306.1 million kWh. The Armenian Nuclear Power Plant increased the output by 1.9% to 541.3 million kWh. Over the period under review, 51.3 thsd GJ of thermal power was generated (3.8% decline). Other sources generated 0.6 mln kWh electric power (down 45.5% versus in Jan-Feb 2014).
