ArmInfo. In Jan-Feb 2016, the industrial output in Armenia was up 9.9% to 194.1 bln AMD ($396.3 mln), the National Statistical Service of Armenia reports. In February 2016 the output grew by 3.8% as compared to January 2016, and by 4.8% as compared to Feb 2015. The upward trend of the industrial sector of Armenia is retained mainly due to the mining sector amid the deteriorating dynamics of the processing industry.
In Jan-Feb 2016, mining industry increased by 41.6% to 37.6 bln AMD (down 16.4% to 18.3 bln AMD in February alone). Processing industry fell by 4.7% to 99.9 bln AMD (up 22.3% to 55.5 bln AMD in February alone).
The supplies of electric power, gas, steam, and conditioned air increased by 21.2% to 53.1 bln AMD (down 11.4% to 24.6 bln AMD in February).
The revenues from water supply, waste disposal and recycling grew by 10% to 3.5 bln AMD (up 1% to 1.7 bln AMD in February).
The average AMD/USD exchange rate was 493.64 AMD/$1 in Feb 2016 and 489.84 AMD/$1 in Jan-Feb 2016 versus 478.39 AMD/$1 in Feb 2015 and 477.06 AMD/$1 in Jan-Feb 2015.
