ArmInfo. Azerbaijan's military aggression in the zone of Karabakh conflict will not affect economy of Armenia, Armenia's Economy Minister Artsvik Minasyan told journalists. He emphasized that no changes in economic policy of the country are planned caused by Azerbaijan's aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh.
According to him, despite the wide-spread concerns that Armenia will note be able to ensure GDP growth set by the budget as result of Azerbaijani aggression, no revision will be made in the social-economic policy conducted by the government.
The Minister stated that the adversary did not manage to launch a blow on the country's economy. Quite the opposite, as Minasyan stated at the background of recent events Armenia makes more efforts for ensuring growth of economy, which will become obvious from the indicators of this year, "At the moment we expect that the economic growth will exceed 3% at the year end", the Minister informed.
To recall, World Bank forecasts a 2.5% GDP growth for Armenia in 2016. EBRD forecasts economic growth to 2% in 2016. The Central Bank of Armenia has revised its economic growth forecast for Armenia in 2016 from the previous 3.2- 3.9% to 1.6-2.7%, according to the CBA's monetary policy program for Q4 2015. The state budget of Armenia fixed 2.2% GDP growth in 2016. According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia GDP growth in Armenia in 2015 totaled 3% versus 3.5% in 2014.
