ArmInfo.Armenian government approved EUR 51 mln agreement with European Investment Bank for the program of "M-6 Route" reconstruction. The loan will be sued for reconstruction of 90 km length route from Vanadzor city to Alaverdi and the northeastern border of Georgia (Bagratashen), First Deputy Minister of Transport and Communication of Armenia Artur Arakelyan noted. The loan will be provided maximum in 15 tranches, he informed.
The total cost of the construction will make 102 mln EUR. European Investment Bank and Asian Development Bank will finance the program. It is planned to start the construction this year and finish the work till 2020. Reconstruction of M6 route will help to significantly shorten the time of traveling between Armenia and Georgia, establishing efficient traffic and increasing the level of services. It is also expected that these changes will contribute to increasing the level of safety on the roads of the country.
