ArmInfo. The 9th Annual DigiTec Business Forum will be held on June 17-18 at the Elite Plaza business center in Yerevan this year.

The forum will include discussions on development of Armenia's military industry, with participation of concerned state departments and organizations, as well as companies that offer IT solutions. 

"We'll focus on military industry this year and discuss 3 main issues at the forum. The first is what short-term solutions are needed for resisting the rival, the second is how we can build a new mid-term military industry on the current technological base, taking into account that wars now are battles of technological weapons.  The third issue is what strategy we want to have in 15-20 years and what steps we should take to achieve it. 

We expect active participation of respective officials of the Armed Forces," noted UITE Executive Director Karen Vardanyan. 

UITE President Aleksandr Yesayan said in his turn that the "Smart Solutions for Smart Business" two-day forum is a good platform for a dialogue in IT, business and other spheres.  According to him, the business forum will allow to activate the participation of IT specialists in projecting the development of Armenia's economy. 

The organizers anticipate around 70 companies and 2000 guests to take part in the forum this year.  This year, relevant government agencies and some IT-companies will discuss development of the military industry in the country, An Armenian-German business conference involving European businessmen (Yes For Europe) will be held on the margins of the Forum. 

UITE was established in 2000 through merger of a number of companies to protect the economic interests and boost the IT-sector. The founder companies are "Migma", "Algorithm", "Link", "ArmSoft", "Arminco" and "Sedit".
