ArmInfo. Rusatom Service lacks any data about delay in implementation of the Armenian NPP Unit 2 life extension program, Dmitry Pashevich, Deputy Director General of
Rusatom Service (general contractor of the program - editor's note) said during ATOMEXPO- 2016 international forum in Moscow on May 31, when replying to ArmInfo's question.
To recall, on May 30, Armenia's Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Hayk Harutyunyan said in Armenian Parliament that the launch of the Armenian NPP Unit 2 life extension program was delayed because of tardy approval of the agreements by the Russian Finance Ministry. According to him, within the loan program of the Russian government on the extension of the NPP life cycle it was planned to provide 10.5bln AMD in 2015, 3.7 of which has already been used. At the same time within the grant program it was planned to provide 3.1 bln AMD, which has not been spent yet. The agreements should have been signed in June 2015, however the Russian Finance Ministry approved them in December only.
"Rusatom Service pays for all the measures being taken under the program and there have never been any problems with the Russian Finance Ministry," Pashevich said.
