ArmInfo. X5 Retail Group started establishing direct import of food products from Armenia passing by mediators, said Igor Shekhterman, X5 Retail Group CEO, on sidelines of the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2016).
Talking to TASS, Igor Shekhterman said his company imports goods from more than 25 countries but mainly through partners. Therefore, the company seeks to establish direct import and is making efforts therein. X5 started importing goods from China and Serbia and is keen establish direct import with about 25 countries, including of
Latin America, Middle, CIS, for instance Armenia and Uzbekistan, Igor Shekhterman said. In his words, a direct supply will help the company reduce transport costs and the cost value of the products. As a result, the company will be able to sell the imported goods at a lower price, he said.
